1988 – Bob and Diane Devolder started Devolder Farms Seeds in Dover Centre, Ontario. At the time, their vision was simple and modest: provide a custom seed cleaning service for local area farmers.
1990 – Partnering with First Line Seeds, Devolder Farms Seeds expanded their seed business to include pedigreed seed production. Devolder Farms Seeds would now grow, process, package and sell pedigreed seed for Southwestern Ontario farmers.
2005 – Devolder Farms Inc expanded their business with the acquisition of Lachine Farm Equipment; specializing in knowledgeable and service-oriented sales of grain storage, drying and handling equipment (to be known later as Devolder Grain Systems)
2011 – A strong dedication to producing quality work led to an increase of opportunities for Devolder Farms which also resulted in the fourth time that the business experienced a facility expansion in the last 15 years. With over 60,000 total square feet of value-added space now on site, Devolder Farms can give growers more access to all types of products that are physically stocked in Ontario. The newest building also houses a parts department and a fabrication shop.
2014 – With over 30 years of experience with seed production in Ontario, the Devolder Family has consistently pushed forward in their passionate pursuit to grow not only a better yielding crop, but to also achieve a better bottom line. The Precision Ag department at Devolder Farms was established as Bob saw precision agriculture as an increasingly important tool in achieving not only his goals but moving the entire industry forward and into the next era of modern farming.
