To Our Valued Clients and the Agricultural Community

August 13, 2020

Chatham-Kent has issued a by-law requiring a face covering to be worn in most enclosed public spaces within the municipality.  This by-law will come into effect on Friday, August 14, 2020.

“All persons entering or remaining in these premises must wear a mask that covers the nose, mouth, and chin as required under Municipal By-Law 101-2020.”

We ask that visitors to Devolder Farms stay within the public designated areas, wear a mask where medically possible and use the hand sanitizer that we have provided.

Signage will be posted on all buildings to direct visitors where to safely go. Some warehouse and production areas will be clearly designated as employee only areas and will not be accessible to the public.

We are committed to continuing to be a reliable source for service and product support and we encourage our clients to reach out to us with any questions or concerns that you may have.

We thank you for your cooperation as we work together to keep the farming community healthy and productive.

We are pleased to report that we have been returning to our Grain Systems construction sites over the past few weeks with much success.

As part of our commitment to minimize the impact and spread of COVID-19, we have actively implemented sector specific guidelines as we carefully continue to take steps to re-open our job sites and protect our clients and staff.

While our construction work is considered essential, it is imperative that we continue to operate and comply with the orders and on-site best practice recommendations put forth by the Ontario government and health officials.

It is important to keep in mind that all construction sites must remain in compliance and as such, physical distancing restrictions (including contact with the crews and the sites) must be followed.  We kindly ask that the implemented guidelines be respected as it directly affects our ability to work and continue to serve the agriculture sector.

Please note that all other protocols listed in previous postings will remain in place until the restrictions are lifted.

We appreciate the support and cooperation that has been shown to our workforce as we move forward.  Our team is committed to serving you safely and reliably and we encourage our clients to reach out to us with any questions or concerns.

April 6, 2020

Devolder Farms is committed to supporting each other and our devoted clients in order to minimize the impact and spread of COVID-19.

At this time we remain open for business and our team is working diligently to adapt our work practices in order to provide a safe and functional work environment for both staff and clients.

We have continued to strengthen our safety protocols to include increased personal hygiene and hand washing requirements and eliminating non-essential access to our facilities.  We have also instituted a call-ahead notification for any unloading/loading, curb side pick ups and increased social distancing and hygiene policies to eliminate unnecessary person to person interactions.

As a company that is deeply embedded in the agricultural industry, the products, services and technologies that are provided by Devolder Farms have been declared an essential service here in Ontario.  Our intent is to continue to keep our clientele operational and support them with minimal disruptions so long as we are safely able to do so.  It is however important to note that as of April 4, 2020, the government of Ontario reduced its list of essential businesses in an effort to keep our communities safe.  At this time, any projects from our Grain Systems department that involved “new construction” are currently considered to be “non-essential”.

In order to comply with orders given by the Ontario government and health officials, our Grain Systems construction season will be temporarily delayed until further direction is given by authorities.  While we do not have a timeline for the current government restrictions, our team is continuing all design and quoting activities to ensure that current and future projects will move forward with minimal impact.

In these times you can count on us to continue to operate our business safely and reliably, supporting the essential need of feeding the country.

We encourage our clients and other industry stakeholders  to reach out to our staff so we can continue to serve you.  Our team is standing by and ready to help.  We do however thank you in advance for your continued cooperation in eliminating unnecessary physical contact by utilizing phone calls, texts, emails, and video chats wherever possible.

We thank you most sincerely for your business and your partnership.  We wish you and your family continued safety and health.

As we move through the ever-changing circumstances related to COVID-19, we find ourselves making decisions regarding how we will conduct business today and in the near future.

As a key supplier to the agricultural supply chain, we are continuing our operations in order to minimize any disruptions to the essential food and other products being produced by our dedicated clients within agriculture.  We are continuing to produce seed within our facility and are able to receive the equipment deliveries required to fulfill orders for our grain systems and precision ag clients.  We are committed to ensuring that our business continues to follow the guidelines and parameters currently set forth by government and health officials.

It is our intent to provide excellent customer service to all of our clients during throughout this period so long as we are able to.  We are taking steps to limit physical contact and as a result, entry into our buildings will now be restricted to staff only and in-person meetings will be extremely limited.  We ask that you do not enter our buildings if you arrive on site.  Please call 519-352-8799 and the appropriate staff will be dispatched to assist you.

Last week, we successfully implemented several precautionary measures.  The safety of our staff continues to be of the utmost importance and as such, while we are still operational, we are sharing these precautions with you today to ensure that we all stay healthy and safe:

SALES:  Our sales staff will continue to be available to you via phone, email, video chats and other methods of non-physical communications to handle routine questions and sales inquiries.  Recommended social distancing in public protocols will be used where essential in-person meetings cannot be eliminated.

ORDER PICK UP:  We will be utilizing curbside pick up for all orders while entry inside of our buildings is restricted to staff only.  This applies to all wholesale and retail orders placed for Seed, Grain Systems and Precision Ag departments.  Please call Devolder Farms to pre-arrange your pick up at a designated time.  We will gladly stage and have your order ready to load in your vehicle with minimal disruption or inconveniences.

SERVICE:  Please contact Devolder Farms for any service needs that you may have.  It is our intent to keep all of our clients up and running!  If you are unable to get through immediately, please leave a message and a member of our service and support team will contact you as soon as they can.  Service, troubleshooting and diagnostic work may be accommodated over phone, text, email and video chat where possible.  Recommended social distancing in public protocols will be used where essential in-person service or repairs cannot be eliminated.

PAYMENT:  At this time, we will not be accepting any cash payments.  Payments will still be accepted via cheque, wires, e-transfer and online banking.

Our team is eager to move ahead and will continue to provide you with access to the support, products and resources that you may need.  We encourage you to reach out to our staff with your questions.  As part of this effort, we will be using the following methods to keep in contact with you and share any new company update or announcements:

  • Phone calls, video calls, texts and emails to respond to individual customers inquiries
  • Newsletters via email
  • Digital resources made available via our website and social media

Please do not hesitate to contact us immediately with questions or clarification on how to proceed with business.  We ask for your patience as we all make this critical transition in order to maintain a safe and healthy workplace.  We understand how important it is to support those in agriculture and we truly appreciate your business.  We will continue to adapt and find ways to serve you to the best of our abilities.

The Ag community has seen its share of difficult times and consistently finds ways to march on and encourage each other.  We wish everyone continued health and a safe planting season.  Thank you for the opportunity to keep supporting you!
